Winter is Here: Christmas Craft Fair and Orders

I'm Back!

Now that I'm home from the biggest adventure of my life so far, I have so much to update you on!

First of all, the blog post all about My Trip To India has been updated and you can look through all my pictures! I still cant believe I was there only a few weeks ago. I still find myself reflecting on some of the emotions the trip brought up for me, it was an absolutely amazing experience. Make sure you check out that post!

Since I got back, things have been as hectic as ever, they're really only slowing down now! I'm getting tidied up, working through my Christmas orders and preparing for 2020. Isn't that crazy? Read on for what I have been up to since returning.

Christmas Craft Fair

Always so much fun, and we always see so many people. Thanks to everyone who bought and came to say hello at this years Craft Fair, Grant and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves once again. Huge thanks to the committee who work so hard to make this event the success that it is. It's a highlight of my year!

I also made a few purchases of my own, including....

-Shetland On Canvas, beautiful Shetland photo canvases for the house!

-Amy Paul Jewellery, I saw one of her rings and haaaad to get one for myself. She is making one especially for me in my size and I cannot wait.

-North Roe Pottery, also an order - we asked for a small trinket dish, she is going to make one for us. We also have our eye on a croft house, but are trying to decide on the perfect place for it to go!

-LaurenClaire Art, I love so much of what these pair make, but this time I bought one of Claires crocheted baskets. I love it!

-Shetland Wax Wraps, my craft fair stand neighbour and new friend Catherine was attending her first craft fair selling these eco-friendly, cling film alternative, wax wraps. I already love using them, so handy and less fiddly than cling film anyway!

Working On Orders

I have been getting Shetland Wool Week orders sent out and making a start on the Christmas orders too. Joyce and Barbara were available to knit and sew and normal while I was away in India, so things have been very productive!

Get Inspired

Winter has hit in Shetland and it is GORGEOUS.

Explaining the climate at home was a topic of amusement while in India, I was asked questions about the kind of house I live in, if we have a fire indoors, and why we would bother having a fridge when it's already so cold... that one was a hard one to answer!

This picture was taken by Laurie from Shetland With Laurie. She's a trained tour guide with a vast knowledge about Shetland. Take a look on her website and social media pages to learn about all about Shetland life, traditions and stories.
